This week there was a focus on boosting traffic to your website. We all want our hard work and the things we create to be seen. After reading Digital Squad's blog post about how to distribute your content and boost website traffic I picked out 3 startegies that I will apply in my own life. I talk about them below. Keep reading and check them out.

The first strategy that caught my interest immediately was having a social media strategy. There is no way, I believe, that you could have a website or anything on the internet that you want people to engage in and not have a social media strategy to promote it. This is the guide line that you will follow on when, where and how to push out content.

Next strategy, email distribution. This one here is something I never thought would be successful. But, Digital Squad says, "You have a way to send your content directly to a reader’s inbox, so why don’t you?" This is a good question. I think subconciously we don't want to bombard people or give someone something we're not sure they like or are interested in. Sending an email is personal and we don't want to invade someones personal space aka inbox with something we want them to do. Why? Well, everyone gets those chain letters and things from people asking us to do this or do that and we hate it. This his how we feel about sending someone an unannounced email. However, I get why this is sucessful. It's a built in network if you will. A built in list of contacts who you know will get and see something you send them versus posting something on the internet hoping people see it and interact with it. We, I, have to get out of that mindset of not want to utilize a resource that we have at our fingertips.

Last but certainly not least is repurposing your content and/or linking content back to your website. Digital Squad says, "Outside of social media, there are a lot of platforms where you can create, repurpose, or share your content, get creative with sharing and repurposing content." I never thoguht about utilizing sites such as Buzzfeed, Quora or Reddit and others to share & or repurpose content from my other social media outlets. This is a great way to utlize forums that are already popular. People are already active there so your content is bound to be seen.
