Essentially, opening up your job search and reaching out to companies instead of only utilizing job search and posting boards for employment. Speaking of the hidden job market and reaching out ot people on your circle, I have done that with these two industry professionals that I could reach out to right now to get the ball rolling in this game of job hunting and employment.

Paul Costen works at Davis Ad Agency in Virginia Beach. There he is a Diretor of Video Production. I've known Paul for about 10 years.v Reaching out to Paul to docuss opportunities at Davis will be something I discuss with him in the future. Unlocking that hidden job market through my connection with Paul, by making this connect here at the agency where he works instead of submitting an app and waiting for a response. I can be proactive just as Mathison & Finney mentioned in Unlock the Hidden Job Market. I've looked at Davis Ad Agency before and never thought I could possibly get hired. Now, with Paul on the inside I can utilize my connection and open up more opportunites .

Sarah Kingsley works at Virginia Media in Norfolk. There she is a Social Media Specialist. This is the exact position that I want to be doing upon graduation. Reaching out to Sarah who I've known professionally for about 5 years will unlock that hidden social media market.
