WK3 Analysis: Businesses & Audiovisual Media/Curating 5

After reviewing the three videos this week. it is clear that they all targeted different audiences.

The first video was from Full Sail University utilized their Project Launchbox initiative to reach incoming students. Did they just talk about the initiative or did try and weave a story here? They most definitely did. They talked about preparing student for working in media entertainment and what that looked like on their campus. After giving you a slight overview of that, they introduced the Project Launchbox and told a story about how this initiative has engaged more student across campus. It would have been nice to hear from some of the students. Getting their input would have really drove this ad home. However, this was an engaging and informative video. Was I blown away? No. Ho, it was intrigued to know more about this Project Launchbox and the school.

The next video I watched was by Dollar Shave Club. This guy is hilarious. He is promoting a new product called One Wipe Charlies. He used humor to tell the story of why should should purchase his product. The story they decided to tell here goes back to primitive times and how things done then don't necessarily work now. He definitely captured my attention with his clever humor and brashness. The story here isn't going to make you cry or want to go change the world. However, it will make you laugh. Dollar Shave Club knows exactly who their target audience is. Men. Dollar Shave Club knows exactly what they like to see. Funny things. I think this ad accomplishes everything that it set out do.

The final video I watched was from Science World. This video was extremely fun. I wanted be in this video. I thought this was very clever on how they used the staff and others to show off the improvements made to the building. this was a fun way to bring peoples attention to Science World. So many people think the science can't be fun. However, with this video they are definitely letting you know that Science can be fun. For the staff to be the one in the video is also great. It shows that they not only work here but they like to have fun here as well. By seeing them having a good time it make me want to have a good time there as well. The idea of using a lip sync for this was genius. Lip Syncing is so popular right now and capitalizing on the novelty of this right now is genius.
